Psychotherapy for Body, Mind & Soul

Simona Anderson Burley (M.Sc.)

Alternative Practitioner for Psychotherapy

Soma – Access through the Body

Soma originates in ancient Greek and means “body.” It is also often used in scientific and medical contexts, e.g., in the word psychosomatic. With a background in molecular biology, I work in a body-oriented and neurobiologically based manner. Through methods such as focusing and exercises to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, the body can be experienced as a resource—as a gateway to intuition, regulation, and decision-making.

Psych – Thinking Patterns & Behavior

The psyche encompasses thought and evaluation processes that are strongly influenced by early experiences and social conditioning. Working with thought and behavior patterns involves bringing unconscious structures into consciousness and opening up new scope for action.

Soul – Personal Essence

The soul represents the individual self—distinctive, purposeful, and often overshadowed by external expectations. In therapeutic work, it can be rediscovered as a constant resource and source of inner stability.

Soma, Psych & Soul stands for a holistic therapeutic approach that understands the body, mind, and soul as interconnected systems.

I can support you with the following challenges:

  • Anxiety and anxiety disorders

  • self-doubt and self-esteem challenges

  • burdensome changes such as breakups—planned or unplanned; imminent or already happened

  • mild depression

  • Stress management and burnout or burn-on symptoms

  • Self-reflection and insights, e.g., recognizing behavior patterns, contact and communication strategies in private and professional life

About me - Simona Anderson Burley (M.Sc.)

My name is Simona and I am happy to welcome you to my website.

I am an alternative practitioner specializing in psychotherapy and a graduate in molecular biology (Master of Science). Throughout my training, I have always been driven by a curiosity about how people function, from the molecular level to the way we make decisions or connect with others.

These experiences also shape my therapeutic approach. My basic attitude is one of non-judgmental curiosity about you, and my approach is based on supporting you in developing your self-understanding. The “why” behind behaviors and feelings is often the key that makes change possible and usually has a psychological and an (evolutionary) biological level.

I work bilingually in German and English and am a member of the British Psychology Society (BPS).
